Good hotel in gir forest
Good hotel and great food view is good but rooms need to get renovated no elevators in the hotel a big disadvantage for elders to go on top floors.

Perfect place to stay for weekend trips to Gir.
We spent an amazing time there. The location is perfect. Its just beside the gate of the Gir National Park. The lawns are amazing, we used to take strolls everyday. Here are some few points that we really like: 1. The behavior of all the staff members is amazing. I didn't remember all of there names, but everyone of them are so helpful and friendly. Yunus bhai at the reception is super helpful and attentive. And since, we spent most of our times in the food court, I would like to mention the names of Apu, Zaheed and Allah Dutt, and all the new interns, (I don't remember the names of all of them, but we mostly interacted with Sumon and Mousumi). The house keeping staffs are good too, they cleaned the rooms every day and managed every request that we made. Unfortunately I didn't remember anyone's name at the moment. 2. We took the gypsy from the Hotel itself, and the driver Mehmud bhai is simply outstanding. He has so much knowledge about the jungle. We highly recommend him. We took three gypsy tours with him and saw the famous Asiatic lions every time. The only aspect that need a little bit of improvement is the non veg section. You should put more options for the non vegetarians. And please change the shampoo and conditioner. Those are quite poor in quality. Otherwise, I must say that it was a nice place to spend few days.

I have done many forest trips but this is my best till date... Absolutely amazing!!!
We visited Sasan, Gir between 31st March and 4th April, 2021. It is a wonderful property. Perhaps the best property if you would like to visit Gir Wildlife Sanctuary at Sasan. The hotel lives up to the reputation of the Taj group. The rooms are excellent, extremely comfortable and cozy, properly air-conditioned, good wi-fi, and nice little refrigerator. The beds are very large and packed with comfortable pillows. The toilet and bathroom are very clean and well maintained. The icing on the cake is the balcony attached with the rooms facing the river. The rooms and all hotel staff maintain the hygiene and precautions for Covid. The staff quality is excellent. Extremely warm and cordial and always willing to help the guests. A special mention of the GAD kitchen managers - Apu, Zahid, and Alladutt. The way they manage the food quality and orders is simply awesome. We are strictly non-vegetarians and, I must say, the kitchen managers did an excellent job with the limited resources they have. The chef's cooking was super professional and the food was extremely tasty. Although we would have loved to have some mutton items and dishes served to us, there was a lack of raw materials and hence we had to be contended with Chicken dishes only. However, the dishes were really tasty, particularly the Chef's special - Bhatti da Murg. The waiter and waitress at the GAD restaurant - Mousumi and Suman - were extremely cordial. They were actually hotel management student interns from Kolkata but their quality of service and behavior was extremely praiseworthy. The restaurant staff makes you fell like home. Younus at the reception counter is a very polite and helpful person. He made all the arrangements for our jungle safaris, trip to Somnath, and drop back to Gandhinagar. The hotel does not overprice their services just because of the Taj brand name. All prices are very reasonable and make the whole experience more enjoyable without burning a hole in your pocket. A special mention must be made of Mahmood bhai. Anyone going to Gir and staying at the Gateway Hotel, ask Younus to arrange for the gypsy of Mahmood bhai. Mahmood is perhaps more experienced than the forest guides who will be accompanying you on the Jungle safaris. He normally accompanies the wildlife documentary people and knows the jungle routes really well. We took three jungle safaris and had a 100% success rate in terms of sighting Lions and Lionesses. We also had the rare opportunity of filming a lioness with her cub. The entire credit goes to Mahmood bhai and his knowledge and experience of the forest. Just one suggestion, do NOT try to act oversmart and take the upper hand. Let Mahmood bhai guide you through the forest. All the other hotel staff, room cleaning staff, room service staff were also very helpful and polite. All of these factors combined to make this trip a lifelong memorable one.
