Menar Lake

The City Palace of Udaipur, the largest palace complex in Rajasthan, rises majestically over Lake Pichola. Built over centuries by successive Maharanas, it blends Rajput and Mughal architecture with grand courtyards, mirrored chambers, ornate balconies, and sweeping views that capture the enduring splendour of Udaipur’s regal past.

City Palace

The Crystal Gallery, inside Fateh Prakash Palace, holds one of the world’s most exclusive crystal collections. Commissioned by Maharana Sajjan Singh in 1877 from F&C Osler, Birmingham, the crystals remained unopened for over a century after the Maharana’s death, preserving a unique legacy of royal artistry and elegance.

Opened to the public in 2000, Udaipur’s Vintage & Classic Car Museum showcases the royal automobiles of the House of Mewar. From gleaming vintage cars to classic models once driven by the Maharanas, the museum is a delight for automobile enthusiasts and history lovers, offering a glimpse into royal life on wheels.

Vintage Car Museum

Perched 3,100 feet atop the Aravalli Hills, the Monsoon Palace, or Sajjangarh Palace, was built in 1884 by Maharana Sajjan Singh. Originally intended as an astronomical center, it later served as a monsoon retreat and hunting lodge. Its hilltop location offers sweeping views and a serene escape infused with royal history.

Bagore Ki Haveli, an 18th-century mansion on Lake Pichola’s Gangaur Ghat, was built by Amar Chand Badwa and later became the Bagore royal residence. With over 100 rooms, intricate balconies, courtyards, and mirror work, it now houses a museum of artifacts and hosts the evening “Dharohar” show, celebrating traditional Rajasthani dance, music, and puppetry.

Built in 1651 by Maharana Jagat Singh I, Jagdish Temple is one of Udaipur’s largest and most famous temples, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Constructed in the Indo-Aryan style, it features intricately carved pillars, sculpted ceilings, and stone images of deities. The main shrine holds a black stone idol of Vishnu, with smaller shrines to Shiva, Ganesh, Shakti, and Surya.

Jagdish Temple

The Old City of Udaipur, surrounding Lake Pichola and the City Palace, is the historical heart of the city.
