Birdwatching at Dhikala Zone
Description :
The core zone of the Jim Corbett National Park, Dhikala is the largest and most beautiful area to visit. Located 50 km inside the dense forest, it is the only zone where you can enjoy tiger sightings in a canter safari. It’s also the finest destination in the park for avian enthusiasts. Birding in the lower jungle track along the Ramganga river is very rewarding for water birds such as river lapwings, waders, mergansers and other waterfowl. To reach the temple, you have to traverse a suspension bridge. During Kartik Poornima, a full moon day in November or December, it’s adorned with diyas (lamps) and sees festivities that attract a lot of visitors.

Located in Choti Haldwani, a small settlement near Kaladungi village, the bungalow is the former residence of Corbett, who distributed these 89 hectares of land to the locals when Britishers left India in 1947.
