The most prominent is the Chakreshwar Temple where the famed King Mukunda Sen of Palpa is said to have meditated and attained nirvana (salvation) in the 16th century. A huge religious fair is held at the site on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, the first day of the Nepalese month of Magh, in January.

The highest point in Chitwan district offers panoramic views of the Himalayas and surrounding landscapes. A popular spot for sunrise and sunset, it offers splendid views of Mt. Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Chitwan National Park and the Narayani and Rapti rivers. Trekkers climb the peak with the help of guides from the local Chepang community. The moderately-easy trek takes you to an elevation of 1945 metres.
