Wonderful staff and hotel
My wife booked 51 Buckingham Gate for one night for my birthday and the hotel, without our prior knowledge, presented me with a beautiful cake - and it tasted as good as it looked. During the evening my wife managed to injure her foot whilst walking back to the hotel from the Cinnamon Club restaurant (unfortunately Quillon is not open on a Monday as that would have been our first choice). In the morning there was no improvement so I had to go home by train, pick up the car and come back for my wife, who was in great pain and was only able to walk with great difficulty. Before I left, I took our bags down to the concierge and told them what had happened. They immediately offered to help in any way they could and said not to worry if I wasn't back by checkout time as they would extend this for us. I managed to get back at just about midday and they let me park our car right outside the door (my wife had refused the offer of a wheelchair). All the reception/concierge staff were fantastic but Francesco in particular was wonderful. He brought our bags out to the car and spoke to my wife, asking how she was and wishing her a speedy recovery. On the way home we stopped at an A&E department who x-rayed my wife's foot and confirmed that she has broken a bone in her foot so is now wearing a boot and walking around very slowly and carefully. We cannot thank the staff enough for their kindness and consideration. We were thrilled with the cake and even more so with the compassion and care shown after my wife's accident. We will definitely return and, hopefully, next time will be accident free.

Very good experience
Hello, This is regarding our stay from Sep 3-7 2021. 1. The following staff were outstanding throughout: a. Front desk b. Concierge team c. Tibor and Francesco who helped several times with various items.. Tibor is really amazing. d. Rosario and team at Kona breakfast service. They provide amazing service all the time. 2. Breakfast - Taste, presentation, service were all excellent. 3. ROom - Single Bedroom Falconer's suite - was spacious and fit our needs. 4. Housekeeping - we had communication issues. So, we had to provide written instructions to housekeeping through the front desk staff. Somehow calling housekeeping for various things did not seem to work well. 5. Initial arrival experience - When a guest arrives via taxi to your hotel - they have to drag their baggage to the hotel from the road. This diminishes the arrival experience. We have now arrived twice at your hotel...and had to drag all our bags. It seems that the adjoining St James Court hotel has Bell staff to help their guests. 6. Quilon - We had dinner here. To be honest - the whole experience was pathetic. Food was good. Our first wait staff (who was the only one who was wearing a suit/jacket) was not interested in explaining the menu and the concept. He simply wanted to know what we want to eat. When questioned about some menu items, he got very defensive. He had no interest in finding out anything about our needs...to the extent that he suggested I probably do not know what is a jackfruit!! Having grown up in South India, I found this very insulting. We planned to leave after appetizers due to this person. However, another person (Mr. R. Sinha) took over our table and provided a much better experience. Other than Mr. R. Sinha, only one person (Angie from Colombia) smiled at all !! Every employee appeared extremely stressed and wanted to get the guests out of the door as quickly as possible. We could easily tell that the energy in the restaurant is not ideal for a relaxed experience. Perhaps that is the culture of that restaurant. 7. We have now returned to your property (two bedroom falconer's suite). I did not like this suite as much as the one bedroom. Here, the toilet does not flush properly in the master bed. (one has to keep on trying to flush the toilet (several attempts)). Luckily, this new stay is shorter. Hope you can fix the toilet in #1223. THank you.

Great room, service, and experience
Top notch experience, except for an issue with the mattress on my teen's roll-away bed. It was bumpy and made for poor night's sleep. However, when informed the staff swapped it for a proper mattress. Please check the mattresses for minimum quality before installing in the future. Thanks.
