Pashan Garh, A Taj Safari - Panna National Park

Pashan Garh or ‘stone fortress’ is a cluster of 12 stone cottages huddled atop a small hill, with a sweeping view of dense foliage. Set in 200 acres of private wilderness; this luxury jungle lodge draws inspiration from the dry-packed stone houses of the Panna region. The large and airy guest areas boast open courtyards and a stone deck overlooking the expanse of the forest down a gentle slope. A lookout tower offers a perfect perch for bird watching by day and stargazing after sundown. A rectangular pool under shady trees invites guests for a refreshing dip. Vintage table lamps, rich textiles and an array of other treasures bring softness and warmth to the chunky stone interiors of the common areas.

Great experience not easy to explain
From the arrival go the departure it was a fantastic experience. Totally ensconsed in the forest completely cutoff from the external world but always aware there is someone nearby, was something unimaginable. The entire staff - Dipu, Anand, Rocky, Bopanna, Karan, Ram Singh, Lallan and a host of others who were not even visible - were really hospitable and made our stay a great experience.

Superb experience
Superb unforgettable experience at Pashan Garh. Amazing hospitality by Dipu and his team Extended stay by a day just because of the grandeur and comfort of the property Special thanks to Mahendra ji (butler) and Boppana (Naturalist) for making our stay so memorable. Each and every meal was spectacular and credit to the team of chefs. Only request is to get Wifi in the rooms. Will definitely recommend this property highly and rerun for sure.

A fabulous experience of a 'cut off from the world' jungle stay
This was new for us. We have been doing historical & cultural places tourism for many years now. Thats how we have stayed at different palaces & other properties of Taj. We started wildlife tourism last last year with Corbett - did not get a booking at Taj so had to settle for some place else - regret that. Sundarbans was a fantastic earthy experience. Pashangarh was absolutey different - no wifi, no phone connectivity, no newspaper, no magazine, no TV, no loudspeakers, no screaming around - absolutely loved this. Chef Raj understood what we wanted & served us local food made from local ingredients . Impressed to see that the inhouse bakery churns out everything from normal breads to complex baked products. Dilip was super warm , like a friend, yet he was very efficient. He treated us like guests at his home. Cant forget the chat with Lallan ji on our way back to room after sunset - he used to accompany us for every walk after dark. CAnt say enough about the passionate engineer Tarun who gave up his engineering career for a wildlie career - followed his passion. THis shows in his enthusiasm, his patience in answering all our questions. Dipu was too good a property head. No airs. Grounded. Always in control. constantly keeping an eye on things. Always updated. wow. Great to chat with - given his 12 years & 6 different taj jungle safari experiences. Absolutely loved the walk ways to the rooms - grass Great rooms. Heard earlier that the heating was not effective earlier. But we were good with the heaters that were there. Blown away by the arrival & departure ritual WE WILL REMEMBER FOREVER THE SURPRISE DINNER IN THE JUNGLE PLANNED BY DIPU - without knowing he gave us such an experience on our 20th anniversary:) Very highly recommended. Look forward to more stays at Taj Safaris.
