This results in some of the finest dishes to be served outside India. The Bombay Brasserie fine dining menu includes firm favourites, including Baingan Bharta {clay oven smoked Aubergine and Tikka Masala} {Charred Tikka, fenugreek, onion and tomato sauce}.

The Bombay Brasserie Bar, where patrons are welcome to enjoy pre-dinner drinks from the extensive range of cocktails, beers, wines and a collection of the finest whiskies and brandies; where Taj Cape Town will serve you everything of the best.

Guests can also choose from an array of small plate dishes, which allows diners to experience a fine dining interpretation of Indian street food in a casual setting.

The culinary team weaves together Indian and Cape Malay cuisine to create a uniquely authentic masala melting-pot of regional Indian flavours in sophisticated combinations.

With its two grand entrances, the former banking hall of the old Reserve Bank is now the welcoming hotel Lobby. With its meticulously restored fluted marble columns and original chandeliers, the Taj Lobby Bar and Lounge is the perfect place to unwind with reviving cup of coffee or tea, a slice of heavenly cake or an evening aperitif.

A sumptuous piece of cake or a golden, flaky pastry is probably the ultimate in decadence – but, since we eat with our eyes, any treat tastes that much sweeter in a special setting. Welcome to The Pantry, where you can craft your own experience: choose your indulgence, then head back to the lobby lounge to savour it over morning coffee, as part of a high tea or special birthday.

Does anything melt the day away quite like a fine whisky in a crystal glass? We think not – unless you’re enjoying it in our sophisticated new Whisky Lounge, that is. You may have known this space as our Cigar Lounge, but we are changing it all up by removing the double doors to create a more welcoming area that extends the bar experience.
