Lovely Traditional hotel
From the moment that I checked in , the service of the staff was excellent. It more than made up for the fact that this hotel may lack the glamour and glitz of the modern hipper ones, but it is altogether a very soothing and relaxing experience . I specially appreciated the turn down service, which is unusual these days as well as an inroom mini bar which is also becoming a rarity. The minor problems with the TV and the shower were immediately fixed and I was even upgraded to a room overlooking the park . The temporary lack of dining ( due to renovations) was compensated for by a continental breakfast and evening hot doerves which were more than sufficient (though not complimentary exactly due to a $35 daily ” amenities fee” which is nearly I Impossible to avoid when booking these days: I consider it a pesky hidden fee but if value is given may overlook it). If you’re looking for location this hotel couldn’t be better, with the Arlington line nearby and Newbury Street stores and restaurants around the corner.
