Linking the eight townhouses that surround this court is an endless frieze of figures - carved from the bricks that dance right round the quad - reputedly the longest Shakespearean sylvan frieze in the world. It makes a perfect backdrop for al fresco meals and drinks in the summer.

With an air of sophistication, large elegant gilt mirrors and high-backed chairs, the Hamptons bar is the perfect setting for an intimate tete-a-tete. The extensive cocktail list with seasonal and signature specials is complemented by gourmet nibbles and tapas. The exclusive Cellar Room, an annexe to the bar, hosts champagne flights with paired canapes, wine-tastings and other special events.
