The Taj is my favourite hotel in London. Clearly there are issues with staffing and logistics, bu the staff did what they could to accommodate
There were a number of issues with housekeeping, and requests that I made and attentiveness to my preferences. Clearly there are issues with staffing and with the ability to manage guests requests. I am a loyal guest and so took this opportunity to help the hotel understand and attend to the challenges. Once aware the staff and the Concierge team did everything possible to rectify the situation. the food was amazing the the chef's did what they could to attend to my specific requests , for which I am grateful. Still my favourite location in London. The reservations team with Shalini were very helpful , Alex and the Concierge team the same as well as the Front Management team at the Taj. I had an amazing hair cut from Dar and by the way you should encourage people to get a service there an offer a discount to guests should they wish to do the same. You need to think about what differentiates your hotel 1) the history 2) the service 3) attentiveness 4) the Indian cuisine and I would say the spa and hair services. Why not leverage that and make the experience greater so that guests want to come back. I would also advise that you let guests know that it is not permitted to have phone calls in the restaurants. This was a constant annoyance with guests carrying on loud conversations without any consideration for others. I would also suggest some better training for new staff- as you have discerning, if not demanding guests and as you onboard new people they should know that to be the case. perfectly relaxing experience
our overall experience was excellent as per usual. the gripe's i would have however is menial, fruit in the room was not replaced daily automatically and toothbrush and paste was not provided like they have been in the past.
