Outstanding service that begins before you actually check in , with logistics and preferences all considered
I have been loyal to the TAJ brand for over 30 years. I continue to be impressed by the service of the 51 team and the willingness to help wherever they can. Shalini Grover helped with organising logistics for my son's wedding cake etc.. Alex and the concierge team were also very helpful as was the front desk. the service from Gabriella and Stella in the restaurant and the cleaning team at 51 was excellent. I am a very discerning guest who expects high value service and I was not disappointed with anyone on the 51 side. the Taj continues to be my home away from home. Perhaps some areas that could benefit from additional training. In the main restaurant the breakfast workflow was a bit chaotic and it may just be because staff are just coming back to work . Supplies such as take away cups were not present. Also the staff in the courtyard were a bit disorganised and did not communicate that effectively. One young man in particular was a bit abrupt when we were asking him questions about the types of teas and the tea menu. None of this is a critical failure it just points to requiring some refresher training for the staff . Most staff were on average, responsive, friendly and willing to extend a hand when we needed it. My family and I appreciated the flexibility in scheduling room cleaning and turn down service and flexibility in adjusting where needed. I did wander into the Jiva spa, where I was unimpressed by the tone of the staff . I asked about a service which they did not provide and asked them if they knew of anyone who would- they did not offer to help me and were definitely not as courteous as I would have expected. Regardless, training can help resolve this. In summary, my family and I are deeply appreciative of the Taj 51 team and Shalini's team and the chef who created a wonderful wedding cake. We look forward to our next stay.

Wonderful and memorable
The suite was very clean and the staff so friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is fabulous and the residence it’s self is a beautiful courtyard experience. It feels like you discovered a gem, a slice of peace in the city.
