From the humble Lucknowi clay tandoor to the grand Awadhi bawarchi khana, Taj chefs have travelled to the corners of India and through the annals of history to excavate recipes and culinary techniques that have been lost to the passage of time. These delectable dishes have been resurrected in a very special menu available only at our Mumbai hotels from November 4 to 13.
Our #LostRecipes food festival celebrates the way things were – when grains were locally sourced and ground by hand for layered, flaky rotis... when mutton wasn’t tender enough to plate until it had sizzled on the spit for a day and a night. Feast on our Gosht Seviyan Biryani with vermicelli instead of basmati, or bite into Boote Ke Samose for the perfectly spiced green gram stuffing. Expect the unexpected, it’s time travel on a plate.

Mews Cafe, our delicatessen on the lobby floor is open all day. Scrumptious pizzas, pastas and light Indian fare are dished up in an informal ambience. The deli also has a mini-mart stocked with ready-to-cook meals, groceries, vegetables, meats and cheeses. From the verandah, you take in the calm and beauty of the surrounding foliage.
