Travel Back In Time
An easy trek takes you to the breathtaking cave temples at Samanar Hills, inhabited by Tamil Jain monks two thousand years ago. The inscriptions on the cave walls indicate that hundreds of monks undertook a fast unto death here. The caves also hold several exceptional sculptures and carvings.

The Gandhi Memorial Museum is a vivid showcase of India’s struggle for independence, including a bloodstained piece of the dhoti Mahatma Gandhi was wearing when he was assassinated. Other exhibits include rare photographs from his childhood as well as other articles that he used in his lifetime.
