An Olde Worlde establishment with some of the best views in Tamil Nadu.
We stayed here for just two nights in February 2019 and could not have been made to feel more welcome. Without fail every member of staff we encountered was warm and helpful and it all felt entirely natural, even the poor man who had to come to open our room safe after I managed to jam the mechanism! The rooms are spread over the hillside and you need to walk to the restaurant but this is no great hardship. The views across Madurai are stunning and the best ones are from the restaurant and breakfast at an outside table looking across the city is a joy. The food is delicious and there is usually a choice of local and international food on offer; there is also a choice of A la Carte or buffet options. The hotel sits on a hill so apart from the views there is often a relieving breeze, there are peacocks everywhere but the appear friendly and we saw a mongoose on the way in. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would be happy to recommend it to friends.

General ambiance very good. Rooms excellent. Service in (only) restaurant badly managed (individual waiters needed guidance
