Full day Itinerary
Linger over your shopping for gold and curios, then hit the beaches and the Submarine Museum and end up on high.
With stretches of sand lapped by the waters of the Bay of Bengal, Visakhapatnam has a seaside-resort vibe with a distinctly Indian flavour. Enjoy its many beaches, its historical sites and the warmth of its people – ingredients that make for an interesting holiday.
Visakhapatnam Airport is located 7km from the city centre. It is well connected to Indian metros and a few Asian hubs. You are required to reach the airport at least an hour in advance of your domestic flight and three hours prior to an international flight.
Visakhapatnam Railway Junction is located on the western edge of the city. It lies on the main Kolkata-Chennai Line. Plan to reach at least thirty minutes before your train’s departure time.
Both, basic state transport buses and more comfortable privately-operated Volvo buses, connect Visakhapatnam to Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Chennai and Bangalore, among other South Indian cities.
Visakhapatnam is well connected to Chennai and Kolkata via National Highway 5, which is part of the Golden Quadrilateral system of Indian highways, and to the rest of Andhra Pradesh by state highways. Road and traffic conditions vary through the year on these roads.
