Mumbai, March, 2014:Taj Group announced today that it has been awarded the 2014 Gallup Great Workplace Award for the fifth consecutive year. The Taj has been listed alongside 35 other companies from across the world. Gallup evaluates and recognizes exceptional organizations whose leadership excels in employee engagement to drive business outcomes. The Taj is the only organization in India and the only hotel chain in the world to have won the award for five consecutive years.
This year, more than 15000 number of employees of The Taj Group of Hotels participated in the Gallup survey, with results showing that they enjoy their workplace, appreciate Taj’s professional training development programs and take immense pride in providing world-class hospitality services to guests from across the world. The Taj started its Employee Engagement journey with Gallup in 1999 and first qualified in 2010 and has been winning the award ever since.

Gallup Great Workplace Award winners span the globe and represent all facets of business from healthcare to hospitality, retail to manufacturing, and banks to insurance. These award winners average a ratio of nine engaged employees for every actively disengaged employee. This is more than five times the ratio in the US and more than 16 times the ratio for workforces globally.
The Gallup judging panel reviews each application and focuses on parameters such as strategy and leadership, accountability and performance, and development and ongoing learning. It ultimately selects those organizations that demonstrate the highest focus on engagement and converting it into business advantage.
The Taj management will be presented with the Gallup Great Workplace Award during a ceremony that will be held at the Gallup’s Spring Summit at Omaha on 14 May 2014.
