Full day Itinerary

Marvel at the views from Dodabetta Peak, visit the Botanical Gardens, explore the Rose Gardens, visit St. Stephen’s Church, and take a boat ride on Ooty Lake.

Half day Itinerary 1

Visit the Tribal Research Centre and Musuem, St. Stephen’s Church and the Botanical Gardens.

Half day Itinerary 2

Shop for handmade chocolates, locally grown teas and tribal handicrafts.

Coimbatore International Airport, around three hours away, is the closest airport to Ooty, and services flights from all major cities. 

Coimbatore Junction is three hours from Ooty and has regular connections with the rest of the country. The toy train from Ooty to Mettupalayam, 36km north of Coimbatore, takes around four hours, and is worth experiencing.

There are daily bus services to the Ooty Bus Terminus from Coimbatore, Bangalore, Mysore and other cities in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

Close to the borders of Kerala and Karnataka, Ooty is connected by winding forest and mountain roads to Tamil Nadu and its neighbouring states. The Coimbatore-Mettupalayam-Coonoor-Ooty Road is the best one to take.
