Mangalore Airport, about 140km away, is the closest airport to Coorg. However, Bangalore’s airport, which is situated 290km away, is better connected to domestic and international destinations. 

Madikere is the hub of all rail services to and from Coorg. The closest railway station to Madikere is Mysore Junction located 122km away. This station offers good connectivity to the rest of the state and country via a strong network of routes. Some tourists also choose to travel through Mangalore.

KSRTC’s Airavat Volvo AC buses make the journey from Mysore, Bangalore and Mangalore to Madikere and tickets are easily available online. Several private luxury buses also ply on these routes, while smaller buses go to Hassan and Shimoga.

Coorg is connected to major cities in Karnataka, by state and national highways. Road conditions may vary depending upon season.
