Aurangabad enjoys good connectivity with the rest of the state of Maharashtra as well as other major Indian cities. Aurangabad Airport, also known as Chikkalthana Airport, is located within the city. 

Aurangabad Railway Station has frequent connections to the rest of Maharashtra and convenient options for travel to the neighbouring state of Andhra Pradesh. As stations can often be busy, plan to reach at least half an hour before the scheduled time of departure.

Buses operated by the State Transport Corporation ply between Aurangabad and the rest of Maharashtra and to cities in Andhra Pradesh. Private buses are available too, though pick-up points differ by operator.

Aurangabad falls on the Nagpur–Aurangabad–Mumbai Express Highway, making it easy to get to major cities in the rest of the state by road.
