Dragon Boat Festival
The Dragon Boat Festival remembers Qu Yuan, a famous 4th century B.C. Chinese poet, who jumped into a river to protest against a corrupt regime. To preclude fish from attacking his body, fishermen whipped the waters furiously with oars and threw in rice dumplings. The festival re-enacts the incident with dragon boat races and the preparation of zongzi, a traditional rice dumpling stuffed with fruits, meat, nuts or vegetables, wrapped in bamboo or asparagus leaves and steamed.
The Dragon Boat Festival at Larry’s China pays homage to the legendary patriotic poet. The menu features a choice of artistically presented gastronomic delicacies as well as zongzi, Come over to savour the nuances of Chinese culinary art.
