The Palace offers a myriad of other enchanting dining experiences. Take an exhilarating drive through the charming city of Jodhpur in a vintage car, accompanied by your royal butler and stop beneath the starry night sky for a divine grilled feast accompanied by the music of the desert. Take a walk down a shimmering candlelit pathway to Baradari - the spectacular marble edifice in the centre of the Palace lawns.

Where you can indulge in traditional royal cuisine or delicacies from around the world, surrounded by the breathtaking architectural splendor of the Mehrangarh Fort. Or you may choose to create your own unique memories. In which case, just get in touch with your Royal Butler and he will be delighted to serve you an intimate private dinner anywhere in the Palace, or on its grounds. A treat on the turrets, a lavish picnic on the lawns, a cozy rendezvous by a pillar, or whatever your imagination fancies.

Banquets of delight

When it comes to hosting larger events - from private parties to business conferences to more extravagant dos - the Palace has myriad banqueting venues to choose from.

The Baradari Lawns (28,800 sq ft), the South Lawns (9,000 sq ft), the Museum Courtyard (615 sqm), the Fountain Courtyard (440 sqm) or the Heritage Lawns (50 sqm) are wonderful options for wedding feasts or themed events. The Marwar Banquet Hall - with its elaborate multi-cuisine buffets laden with the choicest Rajasthani, Indian and Continental fare, attentive service, live instrumental music, Burmese teak floors and crystal chandeliers - makes for a relaxed formal atmosphere.

The Rathore Darbar Hall is a throwback to the grand royal ballrooms of yesteryear with its high vaulted ceiling, gilded mirrors and intricate carvings.

The Chamber of Princes and Smoking Room are perfectly charming and elegant settings for more intimate meetings.

Mehrangarh fort Dinner

Mehrangarh Fort was built in 1459 AD and is a very popular destination for exclusive dinners & royal soirees. Champagne is served on arrival, along with safa tying ceremony, the entrance is lined with lancers on horses and camels,a royal procession comprising torch bearers lead the way up to the fort ramparts. this magnificent structure comes alive with sounds rich with cultural history.

The cultural evening culminates into cocktails followed by an elaborate dinner. The guests are then treated to a splendid display of fireworks at the terrace level. You can enjoy this intimate dining experience and feel like a king as if you own the fort.

Zenana Theme

This theme is held on a cool, open fountain courtyard under a starlit sky only for WOMEN. All cenotaphs and "Jaalies" are backlit with yellow light to break the monotony of colour. Candle lamps and "diyas" lend a rustic look to the courtyard. A small group of local artistes present soft India classical music.

Other attractions on the evening are a traditional folk dance performance during the cocktails' session and a complete "meena" bazaar i.e. a small market set up with a display of Rajasthani handicrafts, locally made artifacts, a fortune teller, mehndi wali, choori wali etc. Ladies can make purchases and settle their dues directly with the vendors.

Architecture / Art Deco Museum theme dinner

Enjoy the historical palace attractions by visiting the royal museum preserving many antiquities of bygone era. The museum at the Umaid Bhawan Palace is one of the most enticing treasure alcoves present in Rajasthan that displays an exclusive range of items belonging to the Maharaja and the royal family. Your interest in the history and curiosity cannot stop you from experiencing a theme dinner in the museum courtyard along with a historian.

Sand Dunes Experience

Should your heart crave a slightly more adventurous excursion perhaps we can be of service. Deep within the heart of the desert lies the settlement of Manvar, a sentinel to the gateway of the Thar Desert Guests arrive in the afternoon and are met by open top 4X4 jeeps, after Refreshments (Tea/ coffee, soft drinks) are served; you are driven through a local hamlet in the desert where the traditional Opium ceremony is performed by the village elder in full ethnic costume and settings.

There after the convoy is taken for a dune ride for about an hour. At the end of the ride at the pinnacle of the dune they will be served champagne, cocktails and snacks assorted drinks and soak up the last faint gleams of the sun reflected on the sands of time.
