Wine List

The wine lists at The Taj Mahal Hotel are carefully selected to cater to every taste and occasion. Our wines are chosen via consultation with our two world-renowned Sommeliers Robert Bath and Richard Dean based in the USA. We enjoy helping guests select exactly the right wine to pair with the cuisines offered in the hotel. We believe that wines should stimulate interest, complement the seasonal fresh offerings of our menus and accompany the unique atmosphere of our restaurants. Special tasting menus can also be arranged.

Wine Labels: The hotel master wine list comprises more than 350 labels, and 20 champagnes, representing all the major wine producing nations from both the old world and new wine producing regions.

Wine Decanter: The hotel has 4 kinds of decanters ranging from Riedel to Schott Zwiesel. There are specific decanters for both mature and young wines. The specially designed decanters allow these wines to open up to their aromas and provide a true taste.

Wine Storage: The hotel's collection is around 20,000 bottles, which must be stored at the right temperatures and locations. The Chambers can hold about 900 bottles of wines making it the maximum storage place within the hotel. The new Indian restaurant Varq has a huge red wine euro cave that can hold up to 200 wine bottles.

Wine Maker Dinner: The hotel holds a wine maker dinner every month in which individual wine makers pair their wine to each dish listed on the menu. Recent dinners have featured wine makers like the Chateau Pontet-Canet, Gaja, Frescobaldi and Meerlust.
