The Traditional Hindu Wedding

The Pre—Wedding Ceremony

Mehendi (special henna colouring applied in intricate, beautiful patterns on the hands) of the bride and the guests. A special Sangeet (traditional Rajasthani music) can be arranged.


Wedding Procession

A traditional “Baraat” or procession starts from the hotel’s gates of the hotel. The bridegroom sits on a beautifully decorated horse, with a little boy as his escort.

A band follows, playing soothing Indian music.


The Wedding Ceremony

A special Hindu wedding is conducted by a priest in front of a “havan” or small fire where Vedic chants are spoken by the priest. Indian traditional music plays in the background.

In addition, the couple receives a framed wedding certificate, a bottle of champagne, and a wedding cake after the wedding is completed.

Photography and wedding video can be arranged.


Post—Wedding Ceremony

A special theme evening and gala dinner is thrown out on sand dunes with traditional Rajasthani folk dancers “Kalbelias”. Guests are taken on an exhilarating ride in a camel cart up the dunes

The second option is at the hotel on the Meherangarh Terrace for a special “Mehfil” evening with Kathak dancers, live music, fireworks, lighting of the terrace, and a special Rajasthani barbeque dinner.


The Wedding Night

A candle light dinner at the Meherangarh terrace with wine.

A specially decorated room filled with flowers and the traditional glass of flavoured milk (Badam) that is offered to the groom by the bride. Two bedtime drinks (Badam milk), dry fruits, cookies, and fresh fruits are provided for the room.


The Next Morning

A special champagne brunch for the bridal couple in served in their own room.
